As gallery840 closes, Kristin is thankful for the community of artists and encouragement she received from the gallery840 community.  Kristin will continue to create and her work can be found on Instagram @kristinkjorlaug or at her website kristinkjorlaug.com. She will continue the tradition of Norwegian Rosemaling and will see you all at the various art vending shows around the community. 

Kristin Kjorlaug was the artist name of my dear Norwegian grandmother. In 1884 her grandfather brought the name Kjorlaug from a farm in Norway to America. Every summer I did Rosemaling (a Norwegian folk art) beside this grandmother, who fanned the flame of creativity in me with pencils and painting books. The smell of linseed takes me to her side again. I sign my artwork Kristin Kjorlaug in honor of this special lady. My Scandinavian heritage inspires much of what I create today, and my belief in the Creator gives me courage to put my creations into this beautiful world.
